The Wildest Show on Wheels!
The World Power Wheel Standing Championships aren’t your typical day at the drag strip.
These purpose-built and heavily modified race cars are designed to do something spectacular: stand up on their rear wheels and carry the front end down the drag strip.
You’ll see everything from classic muscle cars to some truly unconventional wheelstanding machines attacking the Byron Dragway.
The 2026 event features two dedicated wheelstand sessions, scheduled for 2:00 PM and 3:30 PM, giving fans two opportunities to see the wheelstanders put on a show.
Bring the family, find your spot in the grandstands, and be ready when the front wheels leave the pavement.
More Drag Racing All Day
The wheelstanders may be the headline attraction, but they’re not the only reason to spend Sunday at Byron Dragway.
The October 4 racing program also includes:
- Chicago Wise Guys
- Vintage Pro Stock
- Midwest Top Sportsman
- And more drag racing throughout the day
Racing begins at 10:00 AM, with the first wheelstand session scheduled for 2:00 PM.
