From mild-to-wild, Diesel Drags presented by Superior Automotive is the all-inclusive diesel event. From bone stock, daily driven diesel trucks to heavily modified, purpose built diesel drag trucks, and everything in between, this event is for everyone of all levels of experience. Awards are presented to the top three drivers for each manufacturer: Cummins, Duramax, and PowerStroke. Additional awards include best appearing, most unique, quickest manual transmission, best blackout, and a bracket race.
In a heartfelt tribute in memory of Jarrett Powell, Superior Automotive of Belvidere, Illinois also returns as the presenting sponsor of both events this year. Powell, a frequent diesel drag racer at Byron Dragway, is the late son of Superior Automotive owner Marty Powell. Moved by the diesel truck community’s outpouring of support, Superior Automotive has pledged its support of the diesel drag racing events at Byron Dragway to pay tribute and remember Jarrett Powell.
Gates open at 9:00 AM with racing starting at 10:00 AM. It is only $15 to watch, $50 to race, and kids 12 & younger get in FREE.
