The first of ten scheduled points races for the Jr. Dragster Series at Byron Dragway is in the books.

In the Jr. Elite category, Sam Hassler of Muscatine, Iowa won in a closely contested final round over Madison Drafke of Romeoville. Drafke had a narrow starting line advantage, with an .072 reaction time to Hassler’s .077. But Hassler was nearly perfect at the finish line stripe, running 7.911 on a 7.91 dial-in, while Drafke crossed the strip first but broke out, running 7.870 on a 7.90 dial-in.

The Jr. Novice category saw Wyatt Bacon of Kingston score the win over 2020 points champion James Pfohl of Clinton, Iowa. With a pair of great reaction times, the always competitive Pfohl had an .026 reaction-time to Bacon’s .036. Bacon successfully made up the difference at the starting line by running closer to his dial-in, going 9.358 on a 9.33 dial-in, while Pfohl ran 8.952 on an 8.90 dial-in.
Jack Nolan Tanner Liston
In a rain delayed Fun Run, Jack Nolan won the 10 & older age group and Tanner Liston won the 6-9 year-old age group.
