Midwest Drag Weekend returns this fall for a fun filled, three day weekend of drag racing. Byron Dragway will host Day 2 of the event, on Saturday, September 25, 2021.
2021 Drag Weekend Schedule
Day 1 – Friday September 24, 2021
9 am – Drivers Meeting required to be attended by all participants and the official start from Tri State Raceway, Earlville, IA
1 pm – Lunch sponsored by Motion Raceworks, 112 E Industrial St, DeWitt, IA 52742
4 pm – Arrive at Cordova International Raceway, Cordova, IL
5 pm – Gates open and open racing at Cordova International Raceway ($30 for car/driver and $10 for spectators)
Day 2 – Saturday September 25, 2021
8 am – Leave hotel to head to Byron Dragway for our second day of racing
10 am – arrive at Byron Dragway, open racing ($50 for car/driver and $15 for spectators)
Day 3 – Sunday September 26, 2021
7:30 am – Leave hotel to head to Tri State Raceway. ($40 for car/driver and $15 for spectators)
TBD – Awards to follow racing and everyone is welcome to head home from Tri State Raceway
2021 General Rules
General Rules
All cars and drivers must meet NHRA rules and regulations and participating track rules and regulations. Your 3 day average will determine your position in all classes except the 10.00 index. All rulings of any track officials is final. Vehicles must be street legal, licensed, and insured for highway use.
Rules will be enforced and subject to change.
The total mileage for the route is 340 miles
Drag tires are required for racing. You can either make the trip driving on them or change them at the track. Drag tires are defined as 100 tread wear rating or lower numerically. Radials, bias ply slicks, etc., just no hard as a rock street tires tearing up the racing surface. I would advise changing to a dedicated drag tire. The track operators and other racers appreciate it. Hard street tires tear the rubber off the track and create bald spots.
If your race vehicle has to go onto a trailer or be towed in any manner at any time, you will be disqualified. It must run 100% of the time on its own power. Pushing by hand is accepted.
You are not allowed to tow your race vehicle from track to track. You have to carry anything you will need for the weekend in or on your race vehicle or pull a trailer with your race vehicle. We are not having any size restrictions on the trailer you can pull.
We are not regulating the vehicles your family or friends may be following along with. We welcome and encourage you to bring them to this event.
Entry and Registration Fees
The entry fee is $100 (cash, check or Paypal – for PayPal payments please add $4.00).
