The 27th Annual World Power Wheel Standing Championships presented by Don’s Auto Parts & Machine Shop returns to Byron Dragway, October 2-3, 2021.
The Wheel Stand Contest
The main event will consist of two, bumper dragging, sky high, edge-of-your-seat, $10,000 to win, Wheel Stand Sessions taking place at 2:00 PM & 4:00 PM on Sunday, October 3rd. Thousands of dollars in additional prize money will be awarded in a variety of categories such as the top 3 overall, Highest, Longest, Most Violent, Most Photogenic, Most Unique, and manufacturer awards for GM, Ford, and Dodge contestants.
Lots of Racing!
Leading up to the two Wheel Stand Sessions will be a variety of racing classes who will qualify on Saturday (October 2nd) and then have eliminations and exhibition runs on Sunday.
Top Sportsman
The ground pounding power of the ultra-fast Top Sportsman will bring their extreme door slammers to the World Power Wheel Standing Championships.
Index Racing
The season finale of the Midwest Index Shootout Series will determine its 2021 season champions during the World Power Wheel Standing Championships weekend. The heads-up, pro tree, all door slammer series consists of an awesome variety of cars.
Top Dog Shootout
The Pro Modified, door slammer only Top Dog Shootout is perhaps the most extreme of our racing classes. Within the safety rules of the NHRA, this is a “run what you brung” class – blowers, nitrous, superchargers, and turbos are ALL OK! ANY FUEL!
Chicagoland Super Stocks
The always fun and thrilling, wheels up, 8-second Chicagoland Super Stocks will delight race fans with their American made Super Stockers!
Pro E85
For the first time, Pro E85 Racing will bring it’s unique brand of “corn fed horsepower” to Byron Dragway. Huge wheelies and monstrous burnouts are ensured from the variety of American made cars burning American made Ethanol.
Note: While we hope to contest all of the eliminations on Sunday, racers should be aware that depending on Sunday’s weather forecast, there is a possibility some eliminations may take place on Saturday.
